Production Company Logo

We decided to make a company logo to follow conventions of real media CD covers it follows suit from production institutions. From our prelim task in summer where we made a practice short film to ready our skills for production we came up with the company name 'Banana Suit Productions'. We placed white text upon a black background to increase the severity in which it stands out. Laying the text over and in between the image allows the text to be easily readable. Moreover, having the image outside of the black box could represent the power in which the production team has. It cannot be contained in a box. It breaks the conventions and drives forward. We then took a picture of one of our friends in their banana suit costume and use the clone stand tool to take the yellow from the rest of the suit and stamp it over the face to cover the hole. Then using the magnetic lasso tool selected the area around the existing body and then deleted the rest of the body out of the image. After this using the 'Cut out' effect in Photoshop created the plastic look it has. By cutting the rest of the body out but the arms makes it look as if the man has been consumed and trapped by the suit with no escape. In some ways it represents the way in which we want our production to work. Through passion you become completely consumed and overwhelmed by the production and you find yourself right in the middle of the piece.
We got inspiration from such artists as "Banksy", click links for inspirational photographs: 1,2 and 3

Creating the barcode

Using the website below enabled us to create a unique barcode for the album. It generates the black and white stripes for you and then lets you type your own text for the serial number. This gives it the uniqueness. A bar code is crucial for any album, without it customers are unable to buy the album. It also allows customers to search for the album rather than the band or album title to get a highly refined search for the product narrowing down the search quite significantly.

After creating the logo we then took a screen shot of the image, selec
ted the box tool on the image, ringed the barcode and cut it from the image. After this we then saved the cut image which in turn left the barcode on its own, saved as a JPEG. This then let us lay the image ontop of the back cover of the album.

Photo shoot images

These images are from our photoshoot in which to produce our poster and cd productions.
The location was a changing room with mirrors to gain a range of angles and interesting images using the reflections. It was a functional choice as it had a sink where we could apply the zombie make up easily and meant our time organisation was better. Other than the zombie we used another actor to represent a victim and create situations which could be captured rather than a stand alone image of the zombie.

Make up of the Zombie

The for things you need to apply the zombie make-up is :
  • Liquid Latex
  • Toilet Paper
  • A make-up kit
The first step is applying the liquid latex for a base layer; this is so that the toilet paper sticks to the actors face. Then by applying the toilet paper, The toilet paper gives the wrinkled face effect for the 'back from the dead' look.

By applying more liquid latex to the toilet paper this makes it the toilet paper solidify, so that the paper sticks more securely to the actors face.
applying this in several places around the face where you would want the scars/wrinkles to be.we then tear the toilet paper then peel back then apply some more liquid latex to give the effect of torn skin.the next stage is to apply white makeup over all the toilet paper to act like a canvas for the make up. Applying dark make-up around the eye makes him less human which the audience will detach themselves from this character.
then putting red and purple make up in the cuts to make it look like blood. Then you will have to add skin tone to the toilet paper to blend into the face. Adding greens, blues and yellows will give skin tone a realistic effect.then by adding fake blood around the mouth and scars, this makes him look like a blood thirsty animal.
We learnt how to do the Zombie make
up byusing this YouTube Video by the group who 'Indy Mogul'

Audience Feedback Interviews

We held interviews of our target audience for our music video. These were young adults with the demographics of being lively and into the genre of drum and bass who enjoy raving. for further information see our target audience research.
So we took a select few people who has seen our video and recorded there response and feelings to our video. We did this to gain knowledge of how we can improve in future projects.
